PRESS RELEASE FROM WADEBRIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL, JUNE 2010

Full Children's Festival Announced

The organisers of the Wadebridge Folk Festival have announced a children's festival will run daily throughout the Wadebridge Folk Festival.

On the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the festival, a full schedule of children's entertainment will run at The Goods Shed in Wadebridge between the hours of 12pm and 5pm.

The entertainment will include music workshops for young children, face painting, juggling, Punch and Judy and other puppet shows, children's games and songs.

Entertainer Max Fire will be running a special children's show and circus skills workshop, with unicycling, juggling and balance.

The Music Workshops will be run by Mannie McClelland, who has run a very popular music workshop for young children at Sidmouth Folkweek for the last five years. She has worked for many years professionally with children's education and music.

Children's festival organiser Jo Hope will be running children's games sessions and face painting, and there will be a traditional Punch and Judy show with Professor James Gordon, as well as a puppet show by Puppetree, and a shanty singing children's show with the Exmouth Shanty Men.

Organiser Pete McClelland (co founder of the festival's major sponsor Hobgoblin Music) said "We're delighted we could add so much entertainment for children and families to the Wadebridge Folk Festival. These children's entertainers are among the best at what they do, so we will have three fun packed afternoons for kids and parents alike."

All the children's festival events are included in the season ticket (£34.50 per child of 16 or under for the full weekend, covering all events at the Wadebridge Folk festival), or charged at £2.50 per head for non-season ticket holders.

The Wadebridge Folk Festival takes place in Wadebridge, Cornwall from Friday 27th August to Monday 30th August 2010. Full details can be found at www.wadebridgefolk.co.uk

No guarantee can be given that any events will take place, or any artists will perform at a particular time, or at all. We will, however, make every effort to carry out the programme as advertised.
